Kitchens, Cabinets & Storage
While each van camper model usually has some clever features and maybe even something truly unique, the kitchen, cabinets and storage tend to be similar from model to model.
The Kitchen
Van camper kitchens are tiny yet functional. Every model has a bar-sized sink, cabinets, a countertop, a refrigerator, and either a propane or induction stovetop. Some feature larger refrigerators (5 - 7 cu. ft.) with a separate freezer. Most have microwaves, some of which are convection/air fryer models.

Cabinetry
This is an area where there can be significant differences in design and quality. Most models have laminate cabinetry, and material and build quality can vary widely. Others, like Coachmen B vans, build high quality, residential-style cabinets from hardwood. Also pay close attention to latches, drawer slides and hinge mechanisms. Even the nicer push-to-lock latches eventually come out of alignment, causing cabinet doors to fly open while driving!
Storage
Most van camper storage is relatively basic -- i.e., wide open spaces inside cabinets that you can customize as you'd like. Many now have a purpose-built "pantry," while some models feature special flatware drawers and other unique touches like the hidden clothes hamper in a Coachmen Galleria 24A.

Quality Counts
While many van campers appear on the surface to have similar kitchens, cabinets and storage options, this is one area where quality can vary dramatically. Cabinet faces delaminate more often than you'd expect for such a high priced product, and sometimes cabinet build quality is mediocre at best. Sinks and faucets are usually lower quality too. While one explanation is that manufacturers want to keep these rigs as light as possible, the other is simply to cut costs.
